Last on my vacation list was the town of Canmore Alberta Canada. We rented an Airbnb for the week to use for our trips to Banff and had amazing morning views of the Three Sisters Mountain Range of the Canadian Rockies. Originally a coal mining town now its main industry is tourism since the 1988 Winter Olympics. The name Canmore originates from the Gaelic ceann mòr, meaning “Great Head” or “Big Chief” depending on your translation. I came across the public art Big Head sculpture created by the artist Al Henderson. The town center and main street provided plenty of ice cream for the granddaughters with shops and dining all within an easy walk. Plus no entrance fee every day like Banff to see the sites.
