With lots of fanfare and promotion the Eclipse of 2024 arrived and left in a few short hours today. I chose not to attend the gatherings in the northern parts of Vermont and New Hampshire and settled for a more subdued view of 95% instead of totality. Bad idea. I viewed the other locations on streaming channels as they happened and realized that totality would have been the better choice had I made the arrangements. I did enjoy the process and my investment in solar filters was not too steep to regret the purchase. I had a small audience with me on my deck and plenty of cameras and lenses. I learned a lot this time and hopefully in 2044 I will be better prepared. But maybe a trip to Iceland for the 2026 eclipse would be a better choice. Decisions decisions.
