I woke up to the news yesterday that Fritz Wetherbee was retiring. I had the opportunity to photograph Fritz way back in 2007 for Merrimack Valley Magazine. WMUR TV Channel 9 Fritz Wetherbee’s New Hampshire, on New Hampshire Chronicle is an evening staple for many. We met in Concord NH for a quick coffee and then met with the film crew from Channel 9 for a trip to Rumney NH. The film crew setup in the town square and Fritz told a local story for the segment. Once done we headed to the local diner for a 2nd breakfast. He was great to be with and I had brought my Hasselblad camera with some BxW film to the shoot. Turns out Fritz was an avid photographer and loved it. We took photos of each other as he told more stories. I had a great time with him and it was a memorable shoot with a local celebrity.
