I attended the opening ceremonies for the Lowell Kinetic Sculpture Road Race Saturday morning. The Kinetic sculptures are human-powered, all-terrain vehicles made from new and repurposed materials and engineered to race over streets, water, mud, and sand. The event promotes the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) fields, disruptive innovation, and physical activity.
