I recently saw in the local news that Skips Snack Bar in Merrimac MA will be closing it’s doors this August 28th. I remembered doing a shoot on Mid Century living article for Merrimack Valley Magazine back in 2012 with Mandy Ness with her friend Mike Basteks’s 55 Chevy Belair and it was the perfect prop at the site with Skip’s iconic neon signage. Skips started up about 75 years ago and many will miss the cheeseburger and curly fries that were a trademark of their style. I just hope someone preserves that sign.
