You know what they say “face your fears”. I have one of those innate fears of bees. I have probably been stung more by wasp than bees but a sting is sting. I met Tom Rando through my mutual friend writer Liz Michalski who keeps bees herself. I have wanted to photograph a beekeeper at work and Tom was gracious enough to make contact with me for a session as he worked on his hive. With his extra beekeeper suit I had my superpowers to walk into the process with him. Tom is a great teacher and had me at ease immediately as I captured the views. I plan to revisit again for some honey and more views. Maybe swimming with sharks next.
