It’s cold, colder than it should be for my taste in March and I have a bunch of dying Valentine’s Day flowers. Ah what to do. I decided to try some still life based on some views I saw on Pinterest on frozen flower still life’s. You would think with the temperatures being what they are this would have been easy but not so. I used a cooler filled with a few inches of water and placed the flowers in. Water tends to freeze with air bubbles and I need to look into techniques for more of a clear freeze like good ice sculptures. I played with lighting and found my favorite look came from just aiming my strobe directly behind the block of ice with a little fill light from the front. Looking forward to spring soon.
