The highlight of my recent trip to England was a tour to see the locations of the PBS Masterpiece Theater television show of Downton Abbey.
Janet and I got to view the town of Bampton and later that day Highclere Castle.
Bampton was the scene for much of the town, the church and hospital but it is actually about an hour away from Highclere.
Once at Highclere I knew I always wanted to get a view down the driveway but don’t miss out on the garden views and landscape for the whole Downton Abbey experience.
The only disappointment was that no photography is allowed of the castle interiors and Egyptian Exhibit, but there is plenty to view while you are there.
